Finally, spring is in the air! If it could just stay spring all year, I would be fine with that. Everything from the daffodils popping up everywhere you look to the smell of spring, (it just has a smell, you know?) makes my heart leap for joy!


However, with the long anticipated arrival of spring comes the dreaded SPRING CLEANING! (dun dun dunnnnn) Some things that make it easier on me are: 1. Getting started with a giant cup of coffee or two or three, 2. My son not pulling everything that I just neatly organized back out (yeah right,) 3. Crockpot recipes. I am a firm believer in year-round Crockpot use. Good, hearty meals that you can put together in the morning and forget about until dinner time should definitely not be shunned during the warmer months!


Two great slow-cooked cuts are kettle beef and short ribs. Both can be left alone all day and cook down to a tender, juicy meal that just gets better the longer it cooks.

Crockpot Grass Fed Kettle Beef

3 lb. Grass Fed Kettle Beef

1 finely chopped Onion

2 cloves Garlic, minced

1 pck Onion Soup Mix

½ Cup Water

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 pck Egg Noodles

1. Place seasoned kettle beef, chopped onion and garlic, onion soup packet, and water into crockpot and stir.

2. Cover and cook on low setting for 6-8 hours.

3. Add noodles to crockpot 30 minutes before mealtime or cook separately before serving.

Crockpot Grass Fed Beef Short Ribs

1 pck Grass Fed Beef Short Ribs

2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup

1 chopped Onion

Worcestershire to taste

Salt and Pepper to taste

½ Lb Red Potatoes

1. Mix Cream of Mushroom Soup, onion, Worcestershire, salt and pepper together in the crockpot.

2. Add beef short ribs and potatoes.

3. Cook on low setting for 6-8 hours.
