German Meat Balls Recipe
German Meat Balls (made with Ground Beef)
1 pound ground grassfed beef
¼ cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
¼ teaspoon poultry seasoning (optional)
1 tablespoon parsley
¼ cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons oil such as grape seed oil
10 ounces of beef broth
½ cup chopped button mushrooms
½ cup chopped onion
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon flour
½ to 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
Meat Balls: combine ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning (optional), parsley, milk and egg. Mix lightly with hands. Shape into about 24 1 – ½ inch balls. Brown meatballs slowly on all sides in oil. Add mushrooms and onions and cook until soft. Add broth. Simmer covered for 30 minutes. Mix sour cream, flour and caraway seeds (optional) together. Stir sour cream mixture into broth. Cool and stir until mixture thickens.
Serve over egg noodles
